The process to apply for a Luxembourg Work Permit from India is carried out in 5 easy steps.
STEP 1: Check Eligibility: Make sure you meet the specific eligibility requirements for the Work Permit type you’re applying for (e.g., job offer, qualifications, experience, etc.). The most popular Luxembourg Work Permits include the Short-Term Work Permit, EU Blue Card, and Seasonal Worker Permit.
STEP 2: Prepare Your Documents: Gather all necessary documents like your valid passport, job contract (if applicable), proof of qualifications, health insurance, and any other supporting documents required for your specific permit type. Ensure that all your documents are accurate and up to date.
STEP 3: Submit Application to Immigration Authorities: Apply for the Work Permit through the Luxembourg Immigration Directorate or relevant authority. For non-EU/EEA nationals, you may also need to apply for a Type D Visa at the Luxembourg consulate in your home country. A Type D Visa allows you to stay in Schengen countries for more than 90 days.
STEP 4: Wait for Application Processing: Immigration authorities will process your application, which may take several weeks depending on the type of Work Permit. For short-term permits, this may be quicker. On average it takes around 4-12 weeks to process a Luxembourg Work Permit application.
STEP 5: Complete Additional Requirements (if needed): Some work permits may require additional steps such as a medical examination, providing a business plan (for self-employment), or passing a labour market test (if required). Follow all the necessary steps and receive your Work Permit.
