Your occupation has to be included in the Tier 2 UK Occupation List also known as the Shortage Occupation List UK Tier 2 or Skilled Workers Codes of Practice. However, you must have an offer of a job before filing the application. Having a Certificate of Sponsorship Tier 2 from an employer in the UK with an authentic Tier 2 sponsor license is also required.
There are two categories under the UK Tier 2 Visa
The General category of the Tier 2 Visa is for skilled workers and professionals who have an offer of a skilled job. They must also have a Sponsorship Certificate from an employer in the UK having an authentic sponsorship license for Tier 2 Visa.
The ICT category of the Tier 2 Visa is for employees of MNCs who are getting transferred to their branch in the UK. They must have a Sponsorship Certificate from an employer in the UK having an authentic sponsorship license for Tier 2 Visa.
Applicants of the Tier 2 Visa are required to secure a minimum of 70 points on the points test for the Tier 2 Visa. In most cases, Tier 2 Visa holders are permitted to be accompanied by their spouse and kids to the UK. However, for this, they have to declare possessing adequate funds for supporting the family members.
Applications for open job positions in the UK can be filed online. It can be done by sharing your CV and the Cover Letter with the employers. You can also fill out the application form through several online job portals.
