Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted a new Express Entry draw.
IRCC has held a very unusual pattern for Express Entry draws in 2024. Typically, Express Entry draws are held once every two weeks. For instance, in July, IRCC conducted nine Express Entry draws welcoming over 25,000 candidates. On the other hand, IRCC conducted only 3 Express Entry draws in September. This has made it difficult to predict when the next Express Entry draw will be conducted.
Today was the fourth invitation round conducted by the department in November. If you’ve been invited to this latest Express Entry draw, you will have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence (PR) to the IRCC. If this timeframe passes, your Invitation to Apply (ITA) will not be valid.
The latest Express Entry draw was held on November 18, 2024. A total of 174 ITAs were issued to Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates with a minimum CRS score of 816.
Draw No: #325
Type of draw: Provincial Nominee Program
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the CRS score cut-off will be based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
Including the latest Express Entry draw, IRCC has invited 2,107 candidates in November.
Draw No. | Date | Draw Type | Invitations Issued | Minimum CRS |
324 | November 15, 2024 | French language proficiency | 800 | 478 |
323 | November 13, 2024 | Canadian Experience Class | 400 | 547 |
322 | November 12, 2024 | Provincial Nominee Program | 733 | 812 |
Last month in October, IRCC conducted six Express Entry draws that welcomed 5,961 candidates to apply for permanent residence (PR). Currently, IRCC is conducting three types of Express Entry draws:
There is no one-size-fits-all type of profile, which is eligible for a Canada PR in an Express Entry draw. Your chances of receiving an invitation to the upcoming Express Entry draws will entirely depend on your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. The higher your score, the more your chances of receiving an ITA. The CRS score calculator considers factors such as your age, education, work experience, language proficiency and much more. The minimum CRS score and the number of ITAs to be issued in the next Express Entry draw are not published beforehand.
With an application processing time of 6 to 8 months, the Express Entry Program is currently the most popular option for immigrants to apply for Canada PR visa. 2024 has been a busy month for Express Entry and IRCC has so far issued 92,942 ITAs in total. The same trend of issuing a high number of ITAs with low CRS scores is expected to be carried out in 2025 as well.
