Alberta conducted five back-to-back Express Entry draws in October.

The Alberta Advantage Immigrant Program (AAIP), frequently searches IRCC’s Express Entry pool to find candidates that meet the criteria of one of Alberta PNP’s streams.

The Alberta Express Entry latest draws held in October, saw invitations being issued to a total of 318 candidates across five invitation rounds. Invited candidates required a minimum CRS score of 313 - to be eligible for an ITA.

The size & frequency of the Notification of Interest (NOI) draw is determined by the AAIP’s application backlog at that time. AAIP draws are usually held on a weekly basis - with some exceptions.

If you have received an invitation letter from Alberta, you must now send a copy of the letter - along with additional information to the Alberta Advantage Immigrant Program (AAIP) by email within 2 weeks of receiving the letter.

Alberta Express Entry draws in 2023

The following requirements will apply to Express Entry draws scheduled to be conducted by the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program in 2023:

  • 31% of the nominations will be allocated to candidates whose profession is mentioned on the Alberta Occupation In-demand List - and who have a family connection in Alberta.
  • 23% of the nominations will be allocated to candidates whose primary occupation is in the healthcare, construction, agriculture, hospitality, and tourism sectors.
  • 45% of the nominations will be allocated to candidates under Alberta’s Accelerated Tech Pathway.

General Eligibility

You may receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) or be considered for the Accelerate Tech Pathway if:

  • You have an active Express Entry profile.
  • Meet the eligibility criteria of one of the Express Entry streams: Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), or Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
  • Your primary occupation is mentioned on the Alberta occupation in demand list.
  • You intend to be able to live and work permanently in Alberta.
  • You have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score of 300. 
  • You have an active nomination under any AAIP stream.
