The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP or Alberta PNP) has conducted back-to-back draws in November. The province held nine draws under various pathways managed under the AAIP’s Express Entry Stream.

If you have been invited to these Alberta PNP latest draws, you must send a copy of your invitation letter - along with the requested information to the AAIP within 2 weeks. If this timeframe passes, your invitation will no longer be valid.

The Alberta PNP draws held in November saw invitations being issued to 1,474 candidates. The minimum score of the invited candidates ranged between 40 and 71.

The province conducts 3-5 draws every month, but the information on the Alberta PNP draws conducted is posted one week later. The AAIP frequently searches the federal Express Entry pool to invite candidates to apply for permanent residency.

Numbers between pathways may vary near the calendar year-end to ensure AAIP meets the sector and work permit priorities.

Alberta Express Entry Stream Eligibility

The following minimum assessment requirements apply to all Alberta Express Entry Stream pathways:

  • Express Entry Profile: You must have an active Express Entry profile in the federal pool and meet the criteria for one of these programs: Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades Program, or Federal Skilled Worker Program.
  • Alberta Job Offer: If invited based on a job offer, you and your employer must meet Alberta’s job offer and employment requirements.
  • Intent to Settle: You must intend to live and work permanently in Alberta and express interest in immigrating to the province.

Ineligible Applicants

  • Refugee claimants or those under federal appeal or removal processes.
  • Applicants with active nominations under any AAIP stream.
  • Those banned from reapplying to AAIP due to misrepresentation.

AAIP's Express Entry Stream operates on an invitation-only basis. You must first meet the AAIP and Express Entry Program eligibility requirements to apply for this stream. If eligible, you will be issued an invitation from the province of Alberta to apply for permanent residency through the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Currently, 80% of applications under the AAIP Express Entry Stream are being processed within 8 to 10 months.
