The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) has invited 220 candidates in a new Skills Immigration draw on January 23, 2024. Invited candidates in the latest BC PNP draw required a minimum score of 60 to be eligible.

This was the second BC PNP draw conducted in January. The previous invitation round was held on January 16, 2024 - which invited 208 candidates with a minimum score of 60.

British Columbia periodically invites candidates who are registered in the pool to apply to the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). Information provided in the registrations is used to rank candidates who are most likely to meet BC’s economic and labour market needs.

Targeted invitations to apply under the latest BC PNP draw may be based on one or more of the following selection factors:

  • Education - level and field of education and where it was completed
  • Eligible professional designations in B.C
  • Language skills
  • Occupation
  • Duration and skill level of work experience
  • Wage and/or skill level of job offer
  • Intent to live, work and settle in a specific region
  • Strategic priorities - factors that address specific labour market needs in B.C. or support government pilot projects and initiatives

In 2023, BC PNP invited a total of 10,061 candidates across 51 Skills Immigration invitation rounds. BC PNP has been conducting 4-5 draws almost every month in 2023. The same trend is expected to be carried on for 2024 as well.

Immigrating to BC in 2024

The BC PNP is one of the most sought-after Canada Immigration pathways for aspiring immigrants from across the world. There are two types of draws that the BC PNP is currently conducting:

  • BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration Draws

Candidates are ranked and evaluated based on the points achieved under the BC PNP points calculator. Points are assigned based on Age, Education, Work Experience, Language Proficiency, Adaptability, and Spousal Sponsorship. Candidates with the highest scores are issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency to the BC PNP.
