Great News!

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) has conducted a new Skills Immigration draw. 

BC PNP issues Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to eligible candidates on a weekly basis, with some exceptions. The frequency, size, and date of the upcoming BC PNP draw - are all determined by the needs of the BC PNP application inventory at the time of the invitation round.

The latest BC PNP draw conducted on October 24, 2023, saw ITAs being issued to 162 candidates with work experience in Tech, Childcare, and Healthcare occupations. Invited candidates also required a minimum CRS score of 60 to be eligible.

BC PNP’s Skills Immigration Stream

British Columbia’s growing economy needs skilled and experienced workers. The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program Skills Immigration stream is designed to attract skilled and semi-skilled workers in high-demand occupations in British Columbia. The stream includes the following categories:

  • Skilled Worker
  • Health Authority
  • Entry Level and Semi-Skilled (ELSS)
  • International Graduate
  • International Post-Graduate
  • BC PNP Tech

To be eligible, you must:

  • Have accepted a full-time, indeterminate job offer from a B.C. employer. The job must be in a skilled occupation (NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3). 
  • Be qualified to perform the duties of the job.
  • Have a minimum of two years of full-time (or full-time equivalent) work experience in any occupation (NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3) mentioned on the Canada in-demand occupation list.
  • Show you can support yourself and your dependents.
  • Have, or be eligible for, legal immigration status in Canada.
  • Meet minimum language requirements for NOC TEER 2 or 3 occupations.
  • Have a wage offer in line with B.C. wage rates for the occupation.

To apply under the BC PNP Skills Immigration category, you must first create an online profile and register with the BC PNP. The BC PNP uses a points-based system, aka BC PNP points calculator to rank candidates based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and adaptability. The highest-ranked candidates are invited to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residency in BC.
