On February 28, 2023, British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) conducted back-to-back invitation rounds across two of its streams: Skills Immigration and Entrepreneur Immigration.

Who was invited?

  • Skills Immigration Invitations

The BC PNP issued a total of 169 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates in a new Skills Immigration draw. Invitations were issued across two categories:

CATEGORY 2 - Targeted

A total of 24 candidates across a Targeted Draw for Skilled Workers and International Graduates (including the EEBC option). Out of the total ITAs issued, 18 were from Childcare: Early Childhood Educators & Assistants (NOC 42202), and 6 were from Healthcare. The minimum score required was 60.

  • Entrepreneur Immigration Invitations

The BC PNP also conducted a new draw under its Entrepreneur Immigration stream. The latest BC PNP draw issued a total of 12 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to candidates across two categories:

CATEGORY 1 - Regional Pilot

A total of 5 candidates from an Entrepreneur Immigration – Regional Pilot with a minimum score of 112.

CATEGORY 2 - Base

A total of 7 candidates from an Entrepreneur Immigration – Base Category with a minimum score of 116.

If you’ve been invited.

If the BC PNP has issued you a provincial nomination, you’ll receive a message in your account notifying you:

  • which program you've been invited to apply for
  • what to do next

You will need to show proof of the information provided in your BC PNP profile. If the provincial government finds you have submitted false information or left out important details, they could:

  • refuse your application
  • find you inadmissible
  • ban you for 5 years from applying for any type of Canadian visa

Next, you can check your eligibility for the program you’ve been invited to apply under – and make sure you’re still eligible. By thoroughly understanding the program requirements and prerequisites – you will be more prepared to apply.

In case of changes to your personal situation (or that of your spouse/partner), you need to re-calculate your score using the BC PNP points calculator before applying for permanent residency.
