British Columbia has conducted its first invitation round of the month. The province invites candidates to apply for permanent residency every week. Last month in March, BC conducted four PNP draws.

The BC PNP latest draw was held on April 03, 2024. Candidates with work experience in in-demand occupations including Construction and Healthcare, were targeted in this draw.

Candidates invited in this BC PNP draw, will now have 30 days to submit a complete application for permanent residency to the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). On the other hand, candidates who did not get invited will remain in the pool of candidates.

They can expect to receive an invitation in the next BC PNP draw.

British Columbia PNP draws are held once every week, usually on a Wednesday. The next BC PNP draw is expected to be conducted on April 10, 2024.

How does British Columbia select candidates?

The BC PNP invites candidates who are in the registration pool to apply to the program. There are two streams under the BC PNP,

  • Skills Immigration
  • Entrepreneur Immigration

The BC PNP weekly draws are held mostly for Skills Immigration candidates. Targeted invitations to apply to the Skills Immigration streams may be based on one or more of the following factors:

  • Education - level and field of education and where it was completed
  • Eligible professional designations in B.C.
  • Language skills
  • Occupation
  • Duration and skill level of work experience
  • Wage and/or skill level of job offer
  • Intent to live, work and settle in a specific region
  • Strategic priorities - factors that address specific labour market needs in B.C. or support government pilot projects and initiatives

Invitations are based on the information candidates provide in their registrations. Candidates with the highest scores in BC’s points grid, aka BC PNP points calculator - and issued an invitation to apply for Canada PR. The draw type, stream, minimum score, and number of invitations are not published beforehand.
