The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) Skills Immigration draws are a part of the province’s efforts to attract skilled workers to meet labour market demands. These draws are a key component of the BC PNP which allows the province to nominate individuals for permanent residence in Canada.
The Skills Immigration category targets skilled workers, professionals, and international graduates with the qualifications needed for a specific job opening in British Columbia. The process begins with submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the BC PNP, where candidates are ranked using the BC PNP points calculator which is based on factors such as work experience, education, and language proficiency.
Every week, the BC PNP conducts a draw to invite the highest-scoring candidates to apply for provincial nomination. Invitations are given to candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and have a job offer in an in-demand occupation from a BC employer.
Being nominated by BC PNP significantly improves the chances of obtaining permanent residence through the federal Express Entry system. If you are selected in a BC PNP Skills Immigration draw, you will receive a provincial nomination, which provides an additional 600 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) - boosting your chances of securing Canadian PR.
Currently, 80% of applications under the BC PNP are being processed within 8 to 10 months.
