Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted a new Express Entry draw. This draw came after a pause of almost two months. The previous Express Entry invitation round was held on October 26, 2023.

On November 14, IRCC tweeted that some applicants were experiencing issues using the Express Entry Profile Builder and were unable to submit their applications. On November 16, the department followed up with a tweet saying the issue had been resolved. It's unclear if it was the reason for the extended gap in draws.

The latest Express Entry draw held on December 06, 2023, saw ITAs being issued to 4,750 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 561.

Applying under Express Entry

Express Entry System manages candidates in the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and a part of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

There is no one-size-fits-all type of profile that is eligible for a Canada PR in an Express Entry draw. Candidates applying under any of the Express Entry linked Canada PR pathways are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

Factors that influence your CRS score include Age, Language Proficiency, Education, Work Experience, Spousal Sponsorship, Provincial Nomination, Siblings in Canada, and Adaptability. Those with the highest scores are more likely to receive an invitation to apply for Canada PR.

Next Express Entry Draw

The expected Canada Express Entry next draw prediction is December 20, 2023.

Express Entry draws are typically conducted at regular two-week intervals, on a Wednesday. The timing, frequency, and CRS score of these draws are determined by the IRCC - and can vary depending on various factors including, the Canadian economy, labor market, and the immigration targets set in the Canada Immigration Levels Plan 2024-2026.

While the number of ITAs in 2023 exceeded those in 2022, it fell short of the remarkable figures from 2021 -because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Looking ahead, IRCC aims for 110,770 permanent resident admissions in 2024 through Express Entry programs, with higher targets in the following years.
