CATEGORY 2: Targeted Draw

How does the BC PNP work?

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) periodically issues invitations to potential candidates that can support and sustain the province’s economy. Candidates selected from the registration pool were required to submit an application to the BC PNP – based on which they were issued ITAs.

Information provided by candidates in the registration is used to rank, select, and invite candidates who are more likely to meet the labor market shortages in British Columbia. ITAs issued may be targeted to support the province’s government priorities, including specific business sectors, encouraging regional immigration, and facilitating strategic pilot projects.

The number and frequency of ITAs issued in a draw for all categories under the BC PNP are managed to maintain a standard processing time for all candidates – and further support British Columbia’s priorities.

There are two streams that are currently being managed by the BC PNP:

  • British Columbia Skills Immigration
  • British Columbia Entrepreneur Immigration

BC PNP issues ITAs to eligible candidates on a monthly basis, with some exceptions. The frequency, size, and date of the British Columbia PNP next draw prediction – are determined by the needs of the BC PNP application inventory.
