Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted a new Express Entry draw. This was the fourth Express Entry draw conducted by the department in April.
The Express Entry latest draw held on April 23, 2024, saw invitations being issued to 2,095 candidates across a General draw. In a General draw, candidates from all three Express Entry streams are invited to apply for Canada PR.
Type of draw: General
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the CRS score cut-off will be based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
Candidates invited in this draw will now have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residency to the IRCC. On the other hand, candidates who did not get invited will remain in the pool of candidates. They can expect to receive an invitation in the next Express Entry draw.
April has seen an unusual pattern for Express Entry draws. IRCC has been conducting two draws in the same week. The next Express Entry draw is expected to be conducted on April 24, 2024.
In general rounds of invitations, IRCC invites the top-ranking candidates from the pool who are eligible for 1 of the 3 programs managed through the Express Entry Program. These programs are designed to attract skilled workers from around the world who have the potential to contribute to Canada's economy and society.
The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) targets individuals with specific skill sets and work experience that are in demand in Canada. Candidates are assessed based on factors such as their age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and adaptability.
The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) is aimed at skilled workers with experience in specific trades that are in demand in Canada. This program is tailored to individuals who have practical training and work experience in occupations such as carpentry, plumbing, welding, and electrical work. Candidates must meet eligibility criteria related to their trade qualifications, work experience, language proficiency, and ability to settle in Canada.
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is designed for individuals who have gained skilled work experience in Canada and wish to transition to permanent residency. This program is open to temporary foreign workers and international graduates who have obtained qualifying work experience in Canada. Eligible candidates are assessed based on their Canadian work experience, language abilities, and educational qualifications.
With an application processing time of 6 months, the Express Entry Program is currently the most popular option for immigrants to apply for Canada PR visa. It uses a points-based system, which considers factors such as Age, Education, Work Experience, and Language Proficiency - to determine eligibility for permanent residency.
