Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted a new Express Entry draw for candidates waiting for an invitation in the pool. This was the first Express Entry draw conducted by IRCC in June. This draw was different, as it only invited candidates under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
This draw also follows the two Express Entry draws conducted on May 30 and 31, 2024. They were unique in that they were both program-specific draws. No program-specific draws have taken place since the introduction of category-based selection draws in May 2023.
The Express Entry latest draw held on June 19, 2024, saw invitations being issued to 1,499 candidates across a PNP-specific draw. Invited candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 663 to be eligible.
Type of draw: Provincial Nominee Program
If you’ve been invited to this Express Entry draw, you will have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residency (PR) to the IRCC. If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the CRS score cut-off will be based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
If you did not get invited
If you did not get invited in this Express Entry latest draw, your profile will remain active in the Express Entry pool for 12 months from the date of submission. Do not withdraw your application, you may receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next Express Entry draw.
Express Entry draws have had a very unusual pattern in 2024.
Express Entry draws are generally conducted every two weeks, typically on a Wednesday. The number of ITAs, minimum CRS score, and draw-type are determined by the IRCC. This varies depending on factors including, the Canadian economy, labour market, and the immigration targets set in the Canada Immigration Level Plans 2024-2026.
According to our experts, the next Express Entry draw is projected to be conducted on 20 June 2024.
IRCC ranks potential candidates in the Express Entry pool across three different types of draws.
In an Express Entry draw, IRCC chooses the type of draw, decides the number of candidates, identifies the highest-ranking candidates, and invites them to apply for Canada PR.
Launched back in 2015, Express Entry Canada is a direct pathway for candidates seeking to work, live and apply for Canada PR. With a processing time of 6 months, Express Entry is currently the fastest way to apply for Canada PR.
