Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted a new draw. This was the fourth Express Entry draw conducted by the department in February.
This latest Express Entry draw follows two Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws and a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) earlier in February. If you have been invited in this draw, you will have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence (PR) to the IRCC.
If this timeframe passes, your Invitation to Apply (ITA) will no longer be valid.
The latest Express Entry draw was held on February 19, 2025. A total of 6,500 ITAs were issued to candidates across a French Language Proficiency category-based draw. Invited candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 428 to be eligible.
Draw No: 337
Type of Draw: French Language Proficiency (Version 1)
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
Including the latest Express Entry draw, IRCC has issued a total of 11,601 ITAs in February alone. This was also the first category-based Express Entry draw of 2025.
Draw No. | Date | Draw Type | No. of ITAs | Minimum CRS |
#337 | February 19 | French Language Proficiency | 6,500 | 428 |
#336 | February 17 | Provincial Nominee Program | 646 | 750 |
#335 | February 05 | Canadian Experience Class | 4,000 | 521 |
#334 | February 04 | Provincial Nominee Program | 455 | 802 |
If you were not invited in this draw, your profile will remain active in the Express Entry pool for 12 months from the submission date. Do not withdraw your application, you may receive an ITA in the next Express Entry draw.
To be eligible under the French Language Proficiency category, candidates must:
As compared to the other five newly announced Express Entry selection categories, French Language Proficiency is the only one that does not consider work experience as the key attribute to be issued an invitation to apply for Canada PR.
In 2024, IRCC conducted 11 Express Entry draws for candidates under the French Language Proficiency category inviting a total of 23,000 to apply for Canadian permanent residency. The same trend of issuing a high number of ITAs with low CRS scores is expected to be carried out in 2025 as well.
