Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted its first Express Entry draw of September. The department issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) across a draw for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates only.
If you have been invited to this latest Express Entry draw, you will have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence (PR) to the IRCC. If this timeframe passes, your invitation will no longer be valid.
The latest Express Entry draw was held on September 09, 2024. A total of 911 candidates from Express Entry’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) stream were targeted. Invited candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 732 or above to be eligible for an invitation.
Draw No: #313
Type of draw: Provincial Nominee Program
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the CRS score cut-off will be based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
If you did not get invited
If you were not invited, your profile will remain active in the Express Entry pool for 12 months from the date of submission. Do not withdraw your application, you may receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next Express Entry draw.
Express Entry's Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws allow Canadian provinces and territories to select skilled workers from the federal Express Entry pool. Each province can choose candidates who meet specific regional labour needs. By receiving a provincial nomination, candidates get 600 additional points in their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, boosting their chances of receiving an invitation to apply for permanent residency.
PNP draws happen when provinces invite candidates through one of their immigration streams connected to the Express Entry Program. These draws target workers in certain occupations or with particular skills the province needs. For example, some provinces may focus on healthcare, technology, or trade.
After receiving an invitation from a province, candidates must apply for a provincial nomination. Once approved, their profile gets updated with the extra points, increasing their chances of being selected in the next federal Express Entry draw.
PNP draws are important because they allow provinces to address specific economic needs and help immigrants settle where their skills are most required. It also gives more opportunities to those who might not have enough points on their own to qualify for Express Entry directly.
Currently, 80% of applications under the Express Entry pool are being processed within 6-8 months.
