Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted a new Express Entry draw.

The Express Entry latest draw held on September 20, 2023, saw invitations being issued to a total of 1,000 candidates under the Transport Occupations category. This was the first-ever category-based draw conducted by IRCC for candidates with experience in the transport sector - including commercial truck drivers, pilots, and aircraft assembly workers.

Invited candidates also required a minimum CRS score of 435 - to be eligible for this invitation round.

• Type of draw: Transport occupations (2023-1)
• Date and time of round: September 20, 2023 at 14:04:14 UTC
• CRS score of lowest-ranking candidates invited: 435
• Tie-breaking rule: June 17, 2023 at 06:44:01 UTC

*Invitations to apply to the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Trades Program may be issued through this round of invitations.

If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.

Who is eligible for the Express Entry Transport Occupations Category?

To be eligible to apply under the Transport Occupations Category, you must:

• Meet the eligibility criteria of one of the Express Entry streams: Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, or Canadian Experience Class.
• Have at least 6 months of full-time, continuous work experience within the past 3 years in Canada or abroad, in a profession targeted for the Transport Occupations Category.
• Meet all of the requirements in the instructions for that round.

The Express Entry system is now tailored to provide a streamlined and efficient pathway for individuals with expertise in critical in-demand fields in Canada. By prioritizing the invitation of skilled immigrants with work experience in transport occupations, Canada aims to meet the increasing demand for talent and fill key positions that contribute to the nation’s economic growth and advancement.

A total of 10 occupations are eligible for the Express Entry draw for candidates with transport work experience.
