Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted a new draw. The department conducts Express Entry draws on a bi-weekly basis - with some exceptions. This was the first draw conducted by IRCC in April.

The Express Entry latest draw was held on April 10, 2024. A total of 1,280 candidates with a CRS score of 549 were invited across a General Draw. In a General Draw, candidates from all three Express Entry streams were invited.

• Rank required to be invited to apply: 1,280 or above
• Date and time of round: April 10, 2024, at 13:11:33 UTC
• CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 549
• Tie-breaking rule: March 21, 2024, at 03:37:24 UTC

Candidates invited in this draw will now have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residency to the IRCC. If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the CRS score cut-off will be based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.

General Express Entry Draws: Who is eligible?

In general rounds of invitations, IRCC invites the top-ranking candidates from the pool who are eligible for programs managed through the Express Entry Program.

There is no one-size-fits-all type of profile, which is eligible for a Canada PR in an all-program Express Entry draw. Candidates are ranked and selected based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The CRS includes factors such as Age, Language Proficiency, Education, Work Experience, and more. Candidates with the highest scores are invited to apply for Canada PR in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
