Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted its second Express Entry draw of the week. Just yesterday, the department issued 763 invitations to candidates across a PNP-specific draw.

Express Entry draws have followed an unusual pattern in 2024. Usually, IRCC conducts Express Entry draws every two weeks - on a Wednesday. This has made it difficult to predict exactly when the next draw will occur.

Latest Express Entry Draw - Results

The latest Express Entry draw held on August 14, 2024, saw invitations being issued to 3,200 candidates across a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw. Invited candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 509 to be eligible for an invitation.

Draw No: #309
Type of draw: Provincial Nominee Program

  • Number of invitations issued: 3,200
  • Rank required to be invited to apply: 3,200 or above
  • Date and time of round: August 14, 2024, at 14:04:45 UTC
  • CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 509
  • Tie-breaking rule: March 01, 2024, at 19:23:21 UTC

If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the CRS score cut-off will be based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.

If you did not get invited

If you were not invited, your profile will remain active in the Express Entry pool for 12 months from the submission date. Do not withdraw your application, you may receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next Express Entry draw.

Express Entry’s Canadian Experience Class

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is a program under Canada's Express Entry Program, designed to help skilled workers who have already gained work experience in Canada to apply for Canada PR. This is one of the three programs managed under the Express Entry Program.

To be eligible candidates must have:

  • Have at least 1 year of skilled work experience in Canada within the last 3 years of the application date.
  • Meet the minimum Canadian Level Benchmark (CLB) of CLB 7 (for TEER 0 or TEER 1 jobs) or CLB 5 (for TEER 2 or TEER 3 jobs).
  • Plan to live and work outside of the province of Quebec.

The CEC is an attractive option for many because it values Canadian work experience and allows applicants to transition smoothly from temporary to permanent status. There are no educational requirements or job offer requirements for the CEC, but higher education can improve the overall Express Entry score, boosting the chances of receiving an invitation to apply for Canada PR.
