Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted a new Express Entry draw. This was the fifth invitation round conducted by the department in July. 

Latest Express Entry Draw - Results

The latest Express Entry draw held on July 16, 2024, saw invitations being issued to 1,391 candidates under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Invited candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 670 to be eligible.

• Rank required to be invited to apply: 1,391 or above
• Date and time of round: July 16, 2024, at 15:39:40 UTC
• CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 670
• Tie-breaking rule: May 04, 2024, at 13:27:31 UTC

If you’ve been invited to this latest Express Entry draw, you will have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residency (PR) to the IRCC. If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the CRS score cut-off will be based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.

If you did not get invited

If you did not get invited, your profile will remain active in the Express Entry pool for 12 months from the date of submission. Do not withdraw your application, you may receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next Express Entry draw.

Express Entry Draws in July

Express Entry draws have followed an unusual pattern in 2024. Usually, IRCC conducts Express Entry draws every two weeks - on a Wednesday. This has made it difficult to predict exactly when the next draw will take place.

Types of Express Entry Draws

As of 2024, IRCC is conducting three types of draws under the Express Entry Program. 

• General Express Entry draws: In general Express Entry draws, IRCC selects candidates from the pool who are eligible for one of the three streams managed under the Express Entry program.

• Program-specific Express Entry draws: In program-specific Express Entry draws, IRCC selects candidates from the pool who are eligible for a specific Express Entry stream linked with a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

• Category-based Express Entry draws: In category-based Express Entry draws, IRCC selects candidates from the pool by establishing a category to meet a specific economic goal.

Your chances of receiving an invitation to the upcoming Express Entry draws will entirely depend on your CRS score. The higher your score, the more your chances of gaining Canadian permanent residency.
