Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted its third Express Entry draw of the week.
This draw follows a category-based Express Entry draw for Healthcare occupations that occurred on February 14, and a General Express Entry draw the day before, on February 13.
The latest Express Entry draw conducted on February 16, 2024, saw invitations being issued to 150 candidates under the Agriculture and Agri-food occupations category. Candidates required a minimum CRS score of 437 to be eligible for an invitation.
Express Entry Draw #284 - Results
Type of Draw: Agriculture and Agri-food occupations
If you’ve been invited to this Express Entry draw, you'll get a message in your account telling you which program you've been invited to apply for and what to do next. You will also need to show proof of the information you gave when creating your Express Entry profile. IRCC assess whether the information you submit in your Canada PR application is different from what was in your Express Entry profile.
You will have 60 days to submit a complete application.
If there are any changes in your circumstances or those of your spouse or common-law partner, it's important to reassess your score before submitting your online application for permanent residence.
This was only the third Express Entry draw targeted for Agriculture and Agri-food occupations since new selection categories for Express Entry were introduced by IRCC in May 2023.

Agriculture and Agri-food occupations category is one of the six selection categories for Express Entry draws finalized by IRCC. In 2023, the job vacancy rate within the Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing, and Hunting sectors was 3.9%, accounting for 10,535 vacant positions.
To be eligible under the Agriculture and Agri-food Occupations Category, you must:
NOCs Targeted
Occupations | 2021 NOC Code | 2021 TEER Category |
Contractors and supervisors, landscaping, grounds maintenance and horticulture services | 82031 | 2 |
Agricultural service contractors and farm supervisors | 82030 | 2 |
Butchers- retail and wholesale | 63201 | 3 |
These categories were selected after consulting with stakeholders including provincial and territorial governments, employers, immigration researchers, and settlement services. This consultation aimed to identify the most crucial gaps in Canada's labour force and to target candidates who are best suited to fill the vacant positions.
This was the third category-based Express Entry draw conducted by IRCC in 2024. The previous such draws invited candidates from Healthcare occupations and French language proficiency category. In 2023, IRCC invited 110,266 candidates across 42 Express Entry draws - 17 of which were category-based Express Entry draws.
With the back-to-back invitation rounds and the upcoming record-breaking Immigration Levels Plan, there's no better time to apply for Canada PR visa.
