IRCC invites 1,800 candidates in third Express Entry draw of the week

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted another Express Entry draw. This was the third invitation round conducted by the department this week. Overall, this was the sixth Express Entry draw of October.

If you have been invited to this latest Express Entry draw, you will have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence (PR) to the IRCC. Your Invitation to Apply (ITA) will no longer be valid if this timeframe passes.

Latest Express Entry Draw - Results

The latest Express Entry draw was held on October 23, 2024. A total of 1,800 ITAs were issued across a category-based selection draw for candidates in trade occupations. Invited candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 433 to be considered.

Eligibility for Trade Occupations Category

To be eligible to apply under the Trade Occupations category, you must:

  • Have at least 6 months of full-time, continuous work experience within the past 3 years in Canada or abroad, in a profession targeted for the Trade Occupations category.
  • Meet all of the requirements in the instructions for that round.

Targeted Professions for Trade Occupations Category

  • 73200 - Residential and commercial installers and servicers
  • 72406 - Elevator constructors and mechanics
  • 72405 - Machine fitters
  • 72402 - Heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning mechanics
  • 72400 - Construction millwrights and industrial mechanics
  • 72310 - Carpenters
  • 72300 - Plumbers
  • 72200 - Electricians (except industrial and power systems)
  • 72106 - Welders and related machine operators
  • 72014 - Contractors and supervisors, other construction trades, installers, repairers, and servicers

Besides Trade Occupations - Healthcare Occupations, STEM Occupations, French-Language Proficiency, Transport Occupations, and Agriculture & Agri-Food Occupations are among the six categories that will be considered for Express Entry draws. Apart from category-based Express Entry draws, IRCC is also inviting candidates across all-program and PNP-specific Express Entry draws.

Express Entry Draws In October

October has been a busy month for draws conducted under the Express Entry Program. A total of six draws have been conducted - where 5,961 candidates have been issued invitations to apply for PR. Whereas in 2024, IRCC has so far issued 90,835 ITAs to candidates in the Express Entry pool.
