Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted its second Express Entry draw of the week.
The latest Express Entry draw held on July 17 - saw Invitation to Apply (ITAs) being issued to 6,300 candidates under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). Invited candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 515 to be eligible for an ITA.
This was the sixth Express Entry draw conducted by IRCC in July alone. Including the latest draw, the department has so far issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to 17,361 candidates this month.
Type of draw: Canadian Experience Class
If you’ve been invited, you will have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residency (PR) to the IRCC. If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the CRS score cut-off will be based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
If you did not get invited
If you were not invited, your profile will remain active in the Express Entry pool for 12 months from the submission date. Do not withdraw your application, you may receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next Express Entry draw.
Usually, IRCC conducts Express Entry draws every two weeks - on a Wednesday. However, Express Entry draws have followed an unusual pattern in 2024. This has made it difficult to predict exactly when the next draw will take place.

The Express Entry Program is Canada's way of choosing skilled workers for immigration.
It has regular draws where candidates are selected based on their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores. To start, you create an online profile and enter information about your Age, Education, Work Experience, and Language Skills. Each of these factors gives you points in the CRS score calculator.
Every few weeks, the Canadian government holds a draw and invites the highest-scoring candidates to apply for Canada PR. If your score is high enough, you get an Invitation to Apply (ITA). After receiving an ITA, you have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence.
The system is fast and efficient, aiming to process applications in six months or less. Regular draws mean you always have a chance to improve your score and get invited in future rounds.
