The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) has conducted a new draw. This was the first invitation round conducted by the province in December. Last month, British Columbia conducted four BC PNP draws.
If you have been invited to this latest BC PNP draw, you will have 30 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence (PR) to the BC PNP. If this timeframe passes, your Invitation to Apply (ITA) will no longer be valid.
The latest BC PNP draw held on December 03, 2024, saw ITAs being issued to 21 candidates under the Skills Immigration category. The minimum score required to be eligible for an invitation was 102.
Stream | Draw Types | Minimum Score Required | Number of invitations issued |
Skilled Worker, International Graduate (includes EEBC option) | Childcare | 102 | 5 |
Construction | 108 | 5 | |
Healthcare | 121 | 6 | |
Tech | 117 | 5 |
BC PNP conducts 4-5 monthly draws, typically every Tuesday. The date of the draw, number of invitations, minimum score, and stream targeted - are not published beforehand. The next BC PNP draw is expected on December 03, 2024.
The BC PNP Skills Immigration draws are designed to help foreign skilled workers and graduates secure permanent residency in Canada. These draws target individuals with the skills, qualifications, and experience needed to support the province’s labour market and economic growth.
Regular draws under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) invite eligible candidates from various categories such as Skilled Workers, International Graduates, Entry-Level, and Semi-Skilled Workers. Invitations are issued based on factors like work experience, education, and language proficiency. Candidates need to register in the BC PNP Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) and receive a score.
Selection Criteria
Targeted invitations in this Skills Immigration draw were issued based on the following selection factors as defined in the BC PNP points calculator:
A high score increases the chance of getting an invitation. Once invited, candidates can apply for a provincial nomination, which boosts their chances of obtaining Canadian permanent residency through the federal Express Entry system.
Currently, 80% of the applications under the BC PNP are being processed within 8 to 10 months.
