Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted a new Express Entry. This was the second invitation round conducted by the department this week. Just yesterday, IRCC invited 455 candidates across a PNP-specific draw.
Today, candidates from Express Entry’s Canadian Experience Class (CEC) were invited to apply for permanent residence (PR). If you have been invited to this latest Express Entry draw, you will have 60 days to submit your complete application for Canada PR. If this timeframe passes, your Invitation to Apply (ITA) will no longer be valid.
The latest Express Entry draw was held on 05 February 2025. ITAs were issued to 4,000 candidates under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) stream. Invited candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 521 to be eligible for an invitation.
Draw No: 335
Type of Draw: Canadian Experience Class
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
If you did not get invited
If you were not invited in the latest Express Entry draw, your profile will remain active in the Express Entry pool for 12 months from the date of submission. Do not withdraw your application, you may receive an ITA in the next Express Entry draw. Express Entry draws are held once every two weeks.
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is one of the three streams managed under the Express Entry Program. It is designed for temporary workers or international students who have worked in Canada and want to become permanent residents.
To qualify for CEC, you must have at least one year of full-time (or equivalent part-time) skilled work experience in Canada within the last three years. Your job must fall under TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system. You must also meet the required language proficiency in English or French. Unlike other Express Entry programs, CEC does not require proof of settlement funds, making it easier for those already working in Canada.
One of the biggest advantages of CEC is its fast processing time. Since applicants already have Canadian work experience, their chances of integration into the workforce are high, and applications are typically processed within 6 months.
Also, having Canadian experience gives extra points in the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), increasing the chances of getting an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency. If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can create an Express Entry profile and enter the pool of candidates. The Canadian government holds regular draws and invites top-ranking candidates to apply for Canada PR.
Currently, 80% of applications under the Express Entry Program are being processed within 6 to 8 months.
