Latest Express Entry Draw Invites 800 French Speakers to Apply for PR

IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) has conducted its new Express Entry draw. The latest Express Entry draw focused on candidates under the French language proficiency category. In the previous draw, conducted on 13 November 2024, a total of 400 candidates were invited with a CRS of 547 under the CEC category.

It is the third round of invitations conducted by the department in November. All the candidates who have been invited into the latest Express Entry draw will now have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence (PR) to IRCC. If the deadline is missed, your Invitation to Apply (ITA) will become invalid.

Latest Express Entry Draw - Results

The latest Express Entry draw was held on November 15, 2024. A total of 800 candidates from the French language category were invited to apply for PR. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required for a candidate to be eligible for an ITA is 478.

Express Entry: Category-based selection

In category-based draws under the Express Entry system, candidates who meet specific categories are invited to the pool. These draws focus on candidates based on factors such as language proficiency, work experience in particular occupations, and educational qualifications.

The six categories for selection in the Express Entry program include:

  • Proficiency in the French language
  • Healthcare-related occupations
  • Trades occupations
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields
  • Transport-related occupations
  • Agriculture and agri-food occupations

These category-based selection draws prioritize candidates with in-demand skills, enabling them to apply for permanent residency in Canada. Currently, 80% of applications under the Express Entry Program are being processed in 6 to 8 months.
