Quebec’s Regular Skilled Worker Program

The Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program (RSWP) is a popular immigration pathway for individuals looking to work and live in Quebec. Unlike other provinces in Canada, Quebec has its own selection process for skilled workers. The RSWP is designed to attract potential individuals with the education, skills, and work experience required to contribute to Quebec's economy.

To apply, candidates need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through the Arrima portal, an online system used by Quebec to manage applications. Once submitted, candidates are placed into a pool and given a score based on factors like education, work experience, age, language skills (in French and English), and the presence of a valid job offer in Quebec.

The highest-scoring candidates in the Quebec points calculator - are then invited to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate (Certificat de sélection du Québec or CSQ). Receiving a CSQ means that Quebec has selected you for immigration. After obtaining the CSQ, candidates can apply to the Canadian federal government for permanent residency.

The QSWP does not require a job offer to apply, making it accessible to a wide range of applicants. However, proficiency in French is often a significant advantage, as Quebec is a predominantly French-speaking province.

The processing times can vary, but currently, 80% of applications under the Quebec RSWP are being processed within 8-10 months.
