The December 16 MPNP latest draw issued Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates across three MPNP categories: Skilled Workers in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and Skilled Workers Overseas.

Who was invited?

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 155 LAAs with a minimum score of 771.
  • International Education Stream: 46 LAAs.
  • Skilled Workers Overseas: 48 LAAs with a minimum score of 703.

Out of the total 249 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) issued, 36 were given to candidates that declared a valid Express Entry profile number and a Job Seeker validation code.

The December 16 EOI draw is a continuation of Manitoba conducting draws with higher ITAs and lower CRS scores. With back-to-back draws being conducted by Manitoba, it is a clear indication that the province targets to increase the number of candidates eligible to receive a provincial nomination under MPNP-managed streams.

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program

Launched back in 1998, Manitoba was the first Canadian province to establish its own Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) currently manages five key streams – designed to “support & sustain” the province’s economy.

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba
  • International Education
  • Skilled Worker Overseas
  • Manitoba Business Investor
  • Modern Community Driven

Candidates wanting to apply for a provincial nomination are mandated to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the MPNP. Candidates complete a series of questions online and receive EOI Ranking Points in the Manitoba PNP points calculator - based on the provided answers. Their profile is then entered into a pool of all eligible candidates. Manitoba then invites the highest-scoring candidates in the pool to submit a full application to the MPNP on a regular basis.

MPNP issues ITAs to eligible candidates on a monthly basis, with some exceptions. The frequency, size, and date of the Manitoba PNP next draw prediction – are determined by the needs of the MPNP application inventory.
