Manitoba PNP conducts its first EOI draw of June!

On June 1, 2023, Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted a new draw under its Expression of Interest (EOI) system. A total of 589 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued to eligible candidates in the pool.

This latest Manitoba PNP draw invited candidates from all of the three MPNP streams i.e., Skilled Workers in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and Skilled Worker Overseas.

Skilled Worker in Manitoba

Occupation-specific selection

Profiles declaring current employment in Manitoba, in occupations identified with high labor needs were considered.

• Number of LAAs issued: 262
• Ranking of the lowest-ranked candidate invited: 607

The occupations under the following National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021 major groups were considered in this draw:

• 11 - Professional occupations in finance and business.
• 13 - Administrative occupations and transportation logistics occupations.
• 21 - Professional occupations in natural and applied sciences.
• 42 - Front-line public protection services and paraprofessional occupations in legal, social, community, and education services.
• 44 - Care providers and legal and public protection support occupations.

All occupations

All profiles that were not selected in the occupation-specific selection were considered.

• Number of LAAs issued: 240
• Ranking of the lowest-ranked candidate invited: 669

International Education Stream

Profiles that declared meeting International Education Stream eligibility requirements.

• Number of LAAs issued: 56

Skilled Worker Overseas 

Profiles that declared being directly invited by the MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

• Number of LAAs issued: 31
• Ranking of the lowest-ranked candidate invited: 801

Of the 589 LAAs issued in this draw, 214 were issued to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.

How to submit an EOI?

Before starting the process, familiarize yourself with the eligibility criteria of the MPNP and the stream you are applying through. To submit an Expression of Interest (EOI), create an account on the MPNP Online Portal, Sign In, and select Create an Expression of Interest from the options provided. 

Points to Remember:

• Make sure to save a copy of your EOI Summary Report before submitting your EOI.
• Your submitted profile will be valid for 1 year, and you can have only one active EOI at a time. You may submit a new EOI if your current one expires.
• Successfully submitting an EOI does not guarantee a nomination, or the ability to submit a complete application to the MPNP.

You also need to make sure that the information you provide in your EOI stays accurate and complete at all times. If your situation changes, you can log back into your account – and update the information in your EOI. There are no limits on the number of candidates who can submit an Expression of Interest and no deadline.

MPNP’s EOI system uses a scoring system called the Manitoba PNP points calculator - to evaluate candidates based on factors like their work experience, language skills, occupation, and education - provided in the EOI. Candidates with the highest scores are issued a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) in a subsequent EOI draw.
