Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted a new Expression of Interest (EOI) draw on April 20, 2023 – issuing a total of 507 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates from three streams managed under the MPNP: Skilled Worker in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and Skilled Worker Overseas.

This was another unique draw where Manitoba PNP conducted an EOI draw for Skilled Workers in Manitoba under “occupation-specific” and “all occupation” categories.

Occupation-specific

  • Number of Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) issued: 249
  • Ranking score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited: 615

Profiles with current employment in Manitoba in occupations with the highest labor shortages identified in the Manitoba in-demand occupation list were considered in this category. The occupations under the following National Occupation Classification (NOC) major group were considered in this draw:

  • 63 - Occupations in sales and services
  • 64 - Sales & service representatives and other customer & personal services occupations.

  • Ranking score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited: 651

International Education Stream

  • Number of Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) issued: 38

Skilled Worker Overseas

  • Ranking score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited: 719

Out of the total 507 Letters of Advice issued in the latest Manitoba draw - 91 LAAs were issued to candidates showcasing a valid Express Entry ID and Job Seeker validation code.

Who is eligible for Manitoba PNP?

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) eligibility depends on the stream candidates choose to apply under. In general, to apply under any of the MPNP sub-streams, you would be mandated to meet the following requirements.

  • Connection to Manitoba: Demonstrate the ability and intention to become economically established and reside in Manitoba.
  • Language proficiency: For NOC Skill Level 0 and A – CLB 7 or higher. For NOC Skill Level B – CLB 6 or higher.
  • Level of education: A minimum of a one-year post-secondary program.
  • Work experience: A minimum of 6 months of full-time work experience in one of the in-demand occupations in Manitoba.
  • Point assessment grid: At least 60 points out of 100 in the Manitoba PNP points calculator.
  • Settlement plan: Submit a settlement plan for integrating into life in Manitoba.
  • Settlement funds: Demonstrate liquid funds equivalent to Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) requirements as outlined by Canada’s federal immigration authorities.

The MPNP continues to see many invitations being issued, with the number of EOI profiles exceeding the program capacity – making it one of the best times to apply for a provincial nomination.
