Ontario periodically invites candidates to apply for permanent residency under both its primary immigration pathways. The back-to-back PNP draws serve as a testament to the province’s commitment to inviting foreign skilled workers, graduates, and businessmen with the necessary skills, qualifications, and experience to succeed in Ontario’s economy.
Ontario frequently searches the federal Express Entry pool to identify candidates who may meet eligibility criteria for one of the following immigration streams:
If the provincial government identifies you from the pool of candidates, you will receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) in your online Express Entry account. If you’ve received a NOI under Express Entry in this draw you must submit your complete application within 45 days.
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) uses an Expression of Interest (EOI) system to select individuals who may meet eligibility criteria for one of the following immigration streams:
If the provincial government identifies you from the pool of candidates, you will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in your OINP e-filing portal. If you’ve received an ITA under Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program in this draw you must submit your complete application within 15 days.
In 2023, Ontario invited a total of 43,270 candidates under both the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program and Express Entry linked streams.
There is no one-size-fits-all type of profile, which is eligible to immigrate to Ontario. Candidates applying under any of the OINP pathways are ranked using the Ontario points calculator. Factors that influence your score include Age, Language Proficiency, Education, Work Experience, Provincial Nomination, Siblings in Canada, and Adaptability.
The higher your score, the more your chances of getting invited to permanent residency.
