Check Your Ontario PNP Eligibility
One of Ontario's PNP streams, the Masters Graduate (MG) stream, is intended for overseas students who have earned a Master's degree from an Ontario university that qualifies. Candidates can then apply to the Canadian federal government for permanent residence after getting a nomination under the MG stream.
Candidates cannot benefit from Express Entry's six-month average processing timeframes since this stream is not Express Entry-aligned. Provincial Nominee Program processing times, which are not in line with Express Entry, are typically longer and require at least a year.
A legitimate job offer or previous work experience are not prerequisites for the MG stream. You must demonstrate that you have the liquid assets necessary to support your family and yourself. The section on eligibility requirements has more details. Because the MG stream is point-based, only the top applicants will receive invitations to apply from the OINP.
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is for you if you are a PhD student from an Ontario university who is studying abroad in Canada. The OINP PhD Graduate stream is where international students can begin their applications for permanent residence in Canada.
But first, let's look at what the Ontario PhD Graduate stream is before we explain how foreign students in Canada might begin seeking for permanent residency through the OINP.
The PhD Graduate stream aims to provide overseas students obtaining a PhD from a recognised Ontario university with the chance to seek for permanent residency in the province. These students are eligible for nomination through the OINP PhD graduate stream even if they do not already have a job offer in Ontario.
