The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) frequently searches the federal Express Entry pool to select candidates who are eligible under one of Ontario’s Express Entry streams.

The Ontario PNP latest draw held on March 21, 2024, saw invitations being issued to 2,281 candidates under the Human Capital Priorities (HCP) stream. Candidates with work experience in Tech occupations were targeted in this invitation round.

Ontario Occupation In-demand List

Candidates invited in this Ontario PNP draw will receive a NOI in their Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) online account. They must now submit a complete application for permanent residency to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) within 45 days.

This was the fourth Express Entry HCP draw conducted by Ontario in 2024. So far, the province has invited 8,589 candidates under this stream. Ontario PNP draws are held every week, with some exceptions. The stream targeted, the number of NOIs to be issued, and the CRS score range is not published beforehand.

OINP’s Express Entry HCP Stream Eligibility

To qualify under OINP’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities (HCP) stream, you must:

• Have at least 1 year of full-time work experience in TEER Category 0, 1, 2, or 3 if applying under Express Entry’s Federal Skilled Worker Program or at least 1 year of full-time work experience in Canada in TEER Category 0, 1, 2, or 3 if applying under Express Entry’s Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
• Have a Canadian bachelor’s, master’s or PhD degree or its equivalent in another country.
• Have a minimum language proficiency of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 in either English or French.
• Have enough money to support yourself and your dependent family members when you move to Canada.
• Show the intent to work and live in Ontario.

The OINP Express Entry HCP stream works on an invitation-only basis. If you’re issued a Notification of Interest (NOI) in an Ontario PNP draw, you will have 45 days to submit a complete application to apply for Canada PR to the OINP. The OINP application fee is CAD 1,500.
