The Prince Edward Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) has conducted a new draw for foreign skilled workers and entrepreneurs. This was the first invitation round conducted by PEI in September.

The PEI PNP latest draw conducted on September 21, 2023, saw invitations being issued to a total of 157 candidates under the Business Work Permit Entrepreneur and Labor & Express Entry streams.

This draw inlines with the proposed Prince Edward Island PNP draw schedule for 2023.

PEI PNP EOI Draw: Who was invited?

• Labour and Express Entry: 153* Invitations with a minimum score of 55.
• Business and Work Permit Entrepreneur: 4 Invitations with a minimum score of 80. 

*Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under the Critical Worker Stream for the September 21 draw were issued to individuals working for a PEI Employer with a minimum EOI score of 55. Foreign workers with at least two years of relevant experience in Semi-Skilled and Unskilled occupations may be eligible to apply for the Critical Worker Stream of the PEI PNP.

Over the last 12 months, the Prince Edward Island PNP has issued a total of 2,535 invitations to Labor & Express Entry candidates and 77 invitations to Business Work Permit Entrepreneur candidates.

• Labor & Express Entry invitations over the last 12 months: 97%
• Business Work Permit Entrepreneur invitations over the last 12 months: 3%

PEI’s Critical Worker Stream: Eligibility & Requirements

The PEI PNP Critical Worker stream is a potential Canadian immigration option for workers with a job offer in PEI in an occupation categorized into Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibilities (TEER) 4 or 5. 

To be eligible to receive an invitation, you would need to meet the following requirements:

Prince Edward Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) invites candidates through an Expression of Interest (EOI) system. This means that interested candidates must first create an EOI profile with the PEI PNP. The EOI profile includes personal information, education, work experience, language proficiency, and other relevant details.

Once a candidate has submitted their EOI profile, they will be assigned a score based on the information provided. The highest-scoring candidates will receive an invitation to apply (ITA) for a provincial nomination.

PEI PNP's Critical Worker Stream offers a direct route to Canadian permanent residence for certain workers who may not be eligible to pursue immigration through the Express Entry system.
