Prince Edward Island has announced its draw schedule for 2025.
It is the only Canadian province that makes its draw schedule public.
PEI’s Office of Immigration invites people in the Expression of Interest (EOI) pool to apply to their immigration programs managed under the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP). The number of candidates to be invited and the frequency of draws for all streams are managed to maintain standard processing times.
In 2024, the province conducted 16 draws that invited 1,048 candidates under both the Labour & Express Entry Stream and Business Work Permit Entrepreneur Stream.
We can expect 11 Prince Edward Island PNP draws in 2025.
If you’re invited to these draws, make sure your profile is submitted as soon as you meet the requirements of your chosen stream. Your EOI will remain valid in the system for 6 months after submission.
To immigrate through the Prince Edward Island PNP, you must first create an EOI profile.
The EOI profile will include details of the selection factors mentioned below. Once you submit your profile, you will be placed in the EOI pool - along with other candidates. Subsequently, you will be assigned a score, based on the details provided in your EOI profile. If you meet the minimum score requirements and other eligibility criteria, you will be invited to apply for permanent residence in a PEI PNP draw.
PEI EOI System - Selection Factors
Last year, the PEI Office of Immigration selected and prioritised skilled workers in higher-demand sectors such as health care, trades, childcare, and other key industries facing labour shortages. The same trend is expected to be carried out in 2025 as well.
Immigrating to Prince Edward Island is a great choice for individuals seeking to immigrate to Canada in 2024.
One of the key benefits of immigrating to PEI is that it provides a relatively streamlined and efficient pathway to apply for Canada PR. The PEI PNP has a range of immigration streams that cater to different categories of applicants, including skilled workers, entrepreneurs, international students, and more. Additionally, PEI PNP has a relatively high acceptance rate compared to other Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), which means that you have a better chance of being approved for permanent residency.
Currently, 80% of applications are being processed within 8 to 10 months.
