The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted a new Express Entry draw. This was the second invitation round - and overall the fifth Express Entry draw conducted by IRCC in August. Just yesterday, the department issued invitations to 1,121 candidates a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw.
Today, IRCC invited candidates from Express Entry’s Canadian Experience Class (CEC) stream.
If you have been invited in this latest Express Entry draw, you will have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence (PR) to the IRCC. If this timeframe passes, your invitation will no longer be valid.
The latest Express Entry draw was held on August 27, 2024. A total of 3,300 candidates from Express Entry’s Canadian Experience Class (CEC) stream were targeted. Invited candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 507 or above to be eligible for an invitation.
Draw No: #312
Type of draw: Canadian Experience Class
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the CRS score cut-off will be based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
If you did not get invited
If you were not invited, your profile will remain active in the Express Entry pool for 12 months from the date of submission. Do not withdraw your application, you may receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next Express Entry draw.
Managed under the Express Entry Program, the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is one of the main pathways for skilled workers to become permanent residents of Canada. It's designed for individuals who have gained work experience in Canada and want to live here permanently.
To be eligible, you must have at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada within the last three years. This experience can be in a full-time or part-time job, but it must be in a skilled occupation (classified under TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 of the National Occupational Classification).
Applicants also need to demonstrate their language proficiency in English or French by taking an approved language test. Unlike other Express Entry programs, the Canadian Experience Class does not require proof of funds, which makes it more accessible for people already living and working in Canada.
The process involves creating an Express Entry profile, where applicants are given a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based on factors like age, education, work experience, and language skills. The highest-ranking candidates in the CRS points calculator are then invited to apply for permanent residence.
Currently, 80% of applications under the CEC are being processed within 6 to 8 months.
