Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted another Express Entry draw. This was the second invitation round conducted by the department this week. Just the day before yesterday, IRCC invited 1,613 candidates across a PNP-specific Express Entry draw.
The latest Express Entry draw was held for Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates. If you have been invited in this draw, you will have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence (PR) to the IRCC.
The latest Express Entry draw held on October 09, 2024, saw invitations being issued to 500 candidates across a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw. Invited candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 539 to be eligible for an invitation.
Draw No: #317
Type of draw: Canadian Experience Class
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the CRS score cut-off will be based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
Including the latest Express Entry draw, IRCC has so far conducted seven CEC draws in 2024 - through which the department has invited 25,300 candidates to apply for Canada PR.

Express Entry Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draws are a key part of Canada’s immigration system, aimed at selecting skilled workers who have gained work experience in Canada. The CEC is one of the programs managed under the Express Entry Program, and it is specifically designed for individuals who have at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada within the last three years.
During CEC-specific draws, candidates in the Express Entry pool with Canadian work experience are invited to apply for permanent residency. These draws focus on individuals who are already integrated into Canadian society and have the skills needed to contribute to the economy.
Candidates in the pool are ranked based on their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, which takes into account factors like age, education, work experience, and language proficiency. CEC draws typically have lower CRS cut-off scores compared to other Express Entry programs, making them a favourable option for candidates with Canadian work experience.
Once invited through a CEC draw, candidates can submit their application for permanent residency, and processing times are usually faster compared to other immigration streams. This makes the Canadian Experience Class a popular pathway for skilled workers already living and working in Canada.
