Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) has held its new Expression of Interest (EOI) invitation round. This was the second EOI draw conducted under PEI PNP in November. 

PEI PNP Latest Draw

The PEI PNP latest draw held on November 16, 2023, saw invitations being issued to 141 candidates under the Labour & Express Entry and Business Work Permit Entrepreneur streams.

*Critical Worker & Express Entry invitations were issued to individuals working for a PEI Employer with a minimum EOI score of 55. 

Over the last 12 months, the PEI PNP has issued 2,459 invitations to Labour & Express Entry candidates and 68 invitations to Business Work Permit Entrepreneur candidates.

• Labor & Express Entry invitations over the last 12 months: 97%
• Business Work Permit Entrepreneur invitations over the last 12 months: 3%

Selection Criteria

The PNP’s EOI system gathers important information about candidates in the pool in order to rank and select those who are most likely to meet Prince Edward Island’s economic and labor market needs. Selection is based on one or more of the following criteria:

• Language: English or French
• Education: level and field of education and where completed
• Skill and work experience level
• Strategic priorities: attributes that would address immediate labor market needs in PEI
• Other factors relevant to employment prospects: including, but not limited to having a job offer in PEI and/or previous Canadian work experience

PEI’s Critical Worker Stream: Eligibility & Requirements

The PEI PNP Critical Worker stream is a potential Canadian immigration option for workers with a job offer in PEI in an in demand occupation in Canada categorized into Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibilities (TEER) 4 or 5. To be eligible to receive an invitation, you would need to meet the following requirements:

PEI PNP invites candidates through an Expression of Interest (EOI) system. This means that interested candidates must first create an EOI profile with the PEI PNP. The EOI profile includes personal information, education, work experience, language proficiency, and other relevant details.

Once a candidate has submitted their EOI profile, they will be assigned a score based on the information provided. The highest-scoring candidates will receive an invitation to apply (ITA) for a provincial nomination.

PEI PNP's Critical Worker Stream offers a direct route to apply for Canada PR for certain workers who may not be eligible to pursue immigration through the Express Entry system.
