Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has invited 730 candidates in a new Express Entry draw on January 31, 2024. Candidates required a minimum CRS score of 541 to be considered for an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
This was the third Express Entry draw conducted by IRCC in January. The previous invitation rounds were held on January 23 and January 10, 2024.

Type of Draw: General
Invitations to apply to the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) may be issued through this latest draw.
If more than one candidate that was invited, has the lowest CRS score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they had submitted their Express Entry profile.
Express Entry Canada is known for its relatively quick processing times. Requiring minimum documents and eligibility criteria, you can expect to receive an invitation to apply for Canada PR Visa in less than 6 months.
We can expect three types of Express Entry draws in 2024.
In general rounds of invitations, IRCC invites the highest-ranking candidates in the pool who are eligible for 1 of the 3 programs managed through Express Entry i.e. Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.
In program-specific rounds of invitations, IRCC invites highest-ranking candidates who are eligible for a specific Express Entry program linked with a Provincial Nominee Program.
For category-based Express Entry draws, Sean Fraser, Canada’s Immigration Minister, establishes a category to meet a specific economic goal. IRCC then invites the highest-ranking candidates in the pool who are eligible for the targeted category.
Category-based Express Entry Draws
The Canada Immigration Levels Plan 2024-2026 indicates that Canada is all set to boost the number of immigrants it will target under Express Entry in the coming years. According to the plans, IRCC will seek to admit over 345,770 Express Entry candidates between 2024 and 2026.
Your chances of receiving an invitation to the upcoming Express Entry draws will entirely depend on your CRS score. The higher your score, the more your chances of gaining Canadian permanent residency.
