Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted its third Express Entry draw of the week. Just yesterday, the department issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to 500 candidates under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). On Monday, IRCC invited 1,613 candidates across a PNP-specific Express Entry draw.
Today, IRCC issued ITAs to candidates under Express Entry’s French Language Proficiency category. If you have been invited to this latest Express Entry draw, you will have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence (PR) to the IRCC.
The latest Express Entry draw was held on October 10, 2024. A total of 1,000 candidates were invited from Express Entry’s French Language Proficiency category. Invited candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 444 to be eligible for an invitation.
Draw No: #318
Type of draw: French Language Proficiency
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the CRS score cut-off will be based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
To be eligible under the French-Language Proficiency category, you must
As compared to the other five newly announced Express Entry selection categories, French-Language Proficiency is the only one that does not consider work experience as the key attribute to be issued an ITA.
Besides French-Language Proficiency, Healthcare Occupations, STEM Occupations, Trades Occupations, Transport Occupations, and Agriculture & Agri-Food Occupations are among the categories that will be considered for draws under the Express Entry Program. The categories were chosen after considering labour market projections and consulting with various Partners, Stakeholders, Provincial, and Territorial governments.
Apart from these category-based draws, IRCC will also continue inviting candidates across General (all-program) and PNP-specific Express Entry draws.
Currently, 80% of applications under the Express Entry are being processed within 6-8 months.
